About Us

The Cayman Islands are located just 480 miles south of Miami in the warm azure waters of the western Caribbean Sea. The weather is tropical throughout the year with temperatures ranging from the mid 80’s in winter to the mid 90’s in summer. Grand Cayman is also home to Stingray City, where you will be greeted by Southern Stingrays whilst snorkeling at the original “Deep Stingraycity”or standing at the “Stingraycity Sandbar”.

Snorkel our pristine barrier reefs and gardens exploring our many soft and hard corals, not to mention the beautiful array of tropical fish. Sail our serene North Sound waters, or speed along on one of our fast comfortable powerboats.

There’s never been a better time to reserve a private charter with Sailcayman. We offer the coast guard certified sailing vessel,”Splendour in the Wind”, a 47ft 2005 Beneteau; and the coast guard certified powerboat, “Lazy Daz”, a 34′ 2011 repowered Ocean Master. What ever your choice, you are guaranteed to enjoy a fun filled exclusive marine adventure directed by one of our experienced captains.

NEIL GALWAY

neil-1Originally from Ireland Neil moved to the Cayman Islands in 1987 and his very first job was that of a windsurfing instructor at Nick’s Aqua Sports. As an RYA windsurfing/sailing instructor he successfully completed his Yacht Master Offshore certification in 1995 in the UK and subsequently started his own charter company called Red Baron Charters, and the company went from strength to strength.

Rebranding the company as Sailcayman we now offer, two sail boats and two powerboats. Neil still loves sailing, spending time on the water and especially showing his clients and guests and friends alike a great time.

ORNEIL GALBRAITH

orneal-1Orneil was born on Grand Cayman, however thanks to a restless travel bug he has had the opportunity to work with various different watersports operations, in Israel, BVI, the Red Sea & the Sister Islands. Orneil has been working on the water for over 19 years, and starting his first job as a beach attendent at the tender age of 16.

Sailing Grand Cayman is Orneil’s favourite way to spend the day, but come November he transforms into a privateer, for our famous “Pirate’s Week” festival! The rest of the year Orneil is one of the easiest going people you could want to share the day with onboard a Sailcayman Charter.

LES SANDERS

les-sandersLes Sanders hails from London but has been living and working in the Cayman Islands for 14 years. Les worked as a Black Cab driver in London and after what seems like an eternity of driving the streets of London Les decided to make a paradigm shift in his life. He quit his job and completed a Yachtmaster and Powermaster course in the Isle of Wight. He then bought a ticket to Grand Cayman where his brother was working at a water sports company.

Les started crewing on a sailing catamaran that hosted snorkeling charters and introduced his passengers to our friendly stingrays. He couldn’t believe how much his life had changed for the better.

Les took to sailing and boating naturally and before long he was captaining sailing charters himself. Today, 15 years later, Les is still in awe at the direction his life took and he has never looked back to his old London days. Les loves stingrays and they love him, they literally swarm him as they know him so well after all the years of greeting him every morning.

Please join Sail Cayman and Les on a snorkel charter, a Stingray City charter or a Sunset Sail…because who knows, he might just inspire you to make big life changes too!
